Secondary packaging
Automatic cartoning systems
Cartoning places products into retail or shelf cartons. It is not the same job as case packing, which loads transport cases. Soontrue’s cartoning page describes a three-plus-one-axis manipulator that follows a conveyor and picks and places product into a carton. It says the machine connects to the outfeed of a packaging machine and to a carton erector.
The page names food, daily necessities and chemicals as application areas. It does not print a model number. No model number is invented here. Case erectors are quoted on the case-erecting page, not as cartoners.
Figures on this page are copied from the Soontrue pages linked below. They are manufacturer webpage claims, not a rate we guarantee on your product. Options discussed here are topics for the quotation, not a statement that every item is on the standard machine. Warranty terms are not stated on this site because Soontrue’s own pages do not agree.

Published parameters
These are the rows in the technical-parameter table. The page labels the electrical row “Power”; the value is a supply, not a kilowatt rating, so it is shown as power supply.

What we need to discuss
- Carton drawing, material and a sample if you already have the carton.
- How products arrive: orientation, grouping and whether the infeed can be random.
- Closing method, and the conveyors on either side of the cell.
The page says the arm can rotate product while it moves, so identical infeed orientation is not required. Changeover range and tooling still have to be confirmed for the sizes you want to run.
Questions we hear
Is cartoning the same as case packing?
No. Cartoning handles products in smaller cartons. Case packing loads transport cases. A pack sample is the cleanest way to separate the two.
Can the machine use our current carton?
Send the drawing, board grade and a sample for a compatibility review.
Can one cartoner run several sizes?
That depends on the changeover and the tooling. It has to be confirmed for the size set, not assumed from the maximum carton printed above.
